We are a small farm with a little of everything we own. Our farm is like our own piece of heaven & we truly enjoy our life here everyday.
It all started about 2005 when Bob wanted a goat to follow him around like the dogs. Well we all know you can't have just 1 goat so 1 turned into 2! Those were pygmy goats & we were in Love with goats period, by this time. We then changed our plan & decided to raise nigerian Dairy goats.
We Loved them & raised them for a few years but for me they were a little short to milk easily & I always loved the long floppy ears on the Nubian which led us to the Mini nubian's. We got our 1st mini nubians in 2010 & our labor of love began.
We try to keep our numbers of goats down so that although it's work it's still Fun to us so our herd is not real large. We now have generations from third to Sixth or Purebred status & our herd name is Udderly Precious.
We strive for hardy little home milkers that are also Show quality & friendly enough for your children to show in 4H. I milk our does' so I want it to be worth my while when milking so production & easy to milk teats with correct teat placement are a must. We strive for great conformation & breed character with a diversified range of bloodlines & all our goats are registered with MDGA. Kids are disbudded & vaccinated before leaving for their new homes.
Our goats are not just livestock but pets to us & we LOVE them all.
We get plenty of milk for ourselves & food products that we like so I then make Homemade Goats Milk soaps & always have a wide variety available.
You can find a list of my Soaps, lotions & all the stores that carry my products under UDDERLY PRECIOUS SOAPS on FB or contact me as I ship them all over the country as well.
We disease test annually for CAE & Johnnes & to this date are negative for both. We also are CL free & never a suspicious abscess in any of our herd. We buy only from disease tested herds. Last test was March 2019.
We also have also had all our animals or breeding stock tested for G6S & all are normal for that genetic disorder.
If you request or need any other tests done for shipping, etc. other than the Johnnes & CAE I have no problem having them done at the cost to the buyer.
Our goats are tattooed or micro chipped for identification, registered & disbudded when young & also CD & T vaccinations a must.
Our Banties, Guinnea's & Ducks are pets mostly but we do benefit from the eggs & hatch a few out along the way that we keep or sell.
Last spring we got 2 LGD's from different breeders both living in Virginia (Big Thanks to Cindy Kolb & Vikki Caldwell) & with much Thanks to a Dear friend she & her husband brought them all the way back to Michigan while there at a goat show, Thanks so much Jackie & john Pegg. They traveled with our pup's for 2 days & we can never thank them enough because we Love these dogs. They have changed the way our goats live because we no longer fear for our goats safety against any Predators!
Eventually our goal is to breed our Karakachans so look forward to LGD puppies for sale in a couple years. they will only be sold to working farms though. Below are a couple links about the breed.
Expecting our 1st litter of Karakachan pup's december 13, 2014. We are very excited to be able to bring a few more of these exceptional dogs into this world & so that more working farms are able to use these Wonderful dogs.
We no longer breed our Karakachans although we still have them guarding our goats.
